Bonnie Slotnick Cookbooks
is one of the few independent bookstores remaining in Greenwich Village. But wait—there’s another one right across the street! It’s Three Lives & Co., the city’s best independent (new) bookshop. And at 266 Bleecker St. you’ll find Bookbook, formerly Biography Books.

Hungry? Try Elephant & Castle, at 68 Greenwich Ave. near Seventh Ave. It’s a tried-and-true local favorite, reasonably priced, cozy, friendly, and delicious!

I have so much fun changing the window displays to reflect the seasons, holidays, and various aspects of the world of food and cooking.

And from my side of the window, nothing beats catching sight of a passerby who does a double-take upon seeing the word COOKBOOKS emblazoned in big letters on the glass--and soon thereafter appears in the doorway, wide-eyed and smiling.
